Susi Duncan’s first yoga experience came courtesy of a friend, who took her to an Iyengar class in 2002. Over the years, Susi’s path led her to experience many different styles of yoga, including hot vinyasa, restorative and even prenatal when she was pregnant with her son.
After the birth of her son in 2009, and the eventual death of her father in 2012, Susi found the steady flow of a yoga class helped keep her grounded and better able cope with the emotional ebb and flow of life. She has always found that yoga can help heal and strengthen the heart, mind, and body long after class is over.
In 2015, Susi completed her 200-hour teacher training with Neda Honarvar and Rachelle Knowles at Tough Love Yoga. Susi will complete her 300-hour certification in June 2019. She currently teaches alignment-based yoga at Tough Love Yoga with a special focus on teaching beginners.
Susi's classes feature a sweet, expressive flow with a nice balance of restorative postures and challenging arm balances and inversions. She loves to find creative modifications to make poses accessible to everyone and to use props to find depth and freedom in the practice. Expect to learn, play, and feel restored in her class.
Outside the studio, Susi is an art teacher in Gwinnett County and owns her own jewelry business, HoneyBird Jewelry. She often can be found spending time at the beach with her family.
